LoveYou Kickboxing's Fly Girl!
First Love You
If you don't leap, you'll never know what it's like to fly
I remember the first time I taught Superman punches to a class, Megan Maclean was in that class. I debated even introducing them because they look intimidating and not that achievable.
After a couple attempts Megan was flying! The foot work is slightly different than a hitter taking off to spike a volleyball, but Megan quickly made the transition.
Megan's wonderful to have in class. She's eager to try any combination and techniques I teach. She sometimes requests jump knees and supermans because she loves to leap and she gets really good air!
If you're afraid to leap you'll never fly and if you're afraid to let your light shine and be great, you can't inspire others to do the same. Megan inspires and I'm very happy that I was able to show her another way to fly.
I joined LoveYou Kickboxing because I found it on the Groupon site in LivingSocial. I had recently stopped playing on a University Varsity volleyball team and I wanted a fun and different activity to keep in shape and kickboxing seemed to fit that bill.
The classes are always fun and enjoyable and I always get a good sweat going. I find that physical activity helps me relieve stress and it improves my mood, focus and general lifestyle.
I love the way my body feels after a class and I love that Cheryl makes
each class unique.
My advice for women who are in a rut and not sure what to do or where to go.
Take small steps in changing your routine and use friends and people
around you for support.
I enjoy working out on my own sometimes, but I think it's much easier to push yourself when you have someone beside you struggling with you and motivating you at the same time. You are also less likely to skip a workout if you are dedicated to going with another person.
I recently completed a half marathon race and the only reason I managed to do the training and complete the race was because my very good friend was right there beside me the entire time.
Naturally my favourite kickboxing move is either the jump knee or the Superman punch! (Anything where I can fly)
Thank you Megan for loving you and doing what you do!
