LoveYou Kickboxing's Fly Girl!
First Love You
A gentle breeze blowing in the right direction is better than a pair of strong oars.
A gentle breeze is an accurate description of Meg. Due to a pre-existing issue, Meg was cautious. She wanted to tread lightly and avoid too much impact.
The thing with a gentle breeze is it often picks up and becomes stronger. This is how it's been with Meg. Often coming to class twice a week, Meg's technique has improved very quickly and I've heard her giving great tips to her partner!
Being a Ph D student in Psychology, Meg sometimes needs to take her mind off her studies. I'm very happy that Meg has chosen LoveYou Kickboxing as a means to do that!
I always wanted to take kickboxing classes, I had fun in my bootcamp classes when we did some kickboxing moves. I never got around to looking for kickboxing classes though. When I saw a Living Social deal that was my chance to try it out!
You get a good workout at LoveYou Kickboxing but it doesn't always feel like a workout - the punching and kicking moves disguise the work so it's not like you're lifting weights or doing exercise moves you might not like. You're having fun participating in a sport! Strength kind of sneaks up on you, all of a sudden you have stronger arms. :)
Also, focusing my mind on following proper technique stops me from thinking about other stuff like my dissertation, so it's a welcome mental break and I get out whatever frustrations I have built up with work etc.
I like that we're always doing something different, and that Cheryl and the women who attend are so positive and encouraging.
I've gotten into fitness ruts, especially after having done the same thing alone at the gym time after time. That's why I started taking classes. What's most important for me is to have variability in what I do, and to have high-energy, positive and encouraging instructors that enjoy teaching what they're teaching. Then I keep pushing myself and don't get bored. LoveYou Kickboxing and Cheryl fall into that category!
The other thing about LoveYou Kickboxing is that you're working with other women who are also positive and encouraging, so exercising with a buddy is built in to it even if you don't know anyone in class.
My favorite technique are Superman punches! Even though they take a bit of practice to get the movements right, it's fun "flying" through the air and punching, it feels powerful. :)
Thank you Meg for doing what you do and loving you!
