"The Heavy Weight Champion of the World still trains his Jab / Cross".
Heidi has become a frequent face at LoveYou Kickboxing. For over two years
I’ve had the pleasure of teaching her and watching her technique improve.
One of the many things I love about kickboxing is that it doesn’t ever get any easier.
The better you get, the harder you work, because you learn to incorporate your whole body in your technique. Your jab / cross is still a jab / cross but it doesn’t look or feel anything like it did when you first started.
Heidi understands this concept and she easily absorbs my tweaks to her technique and she often corrects herself without me having to say anything.
Not only is Heidi consistent in her training but she’s good natured, cheerful and a pleasure to have in class.
"I first joined Love You Kickboxing about 2 years ago. I'd been thinking about trying kickboxing for a while, and when I saw a livingsocial deal I figured it was a great opportunity to give it a shot. I've been going ever since!
I keep coming to class because there is something about kickboxing that makes me super happy. I've played many sports and tried a variety of fitness options, but kickboxing is what I love. And I have found that as my technique improves I get more and more out of my workout, so it never gets stale or boring or feels like I'm just coasting.
I love the way Cheryl focuses on technique. This keeps me feeling like I`m continually working out new muscle groups and gaining strength, even if the combinations themselves don`t change that much. I`ve experienced so much growth and improvement as Cheryl tweaks my technique each class! I also love the way Cheryl is able to create such a welcoming environment. She always greets you by name and takes an interest in your fitness goals.
My advice for women who want a change but are scared to get out of their comfort zone, ask yourself - ``what have I got to lose?" Often fear is unfounded, it’s based on a lie, and has little bearing on reality. So if you stop for a moment and recognize what is causing you to hold yourself back, you can often see how silly it is, and then you are able move forward in confidence.
My favorite combination is a jab cross in Orthodox. There is something about the power transfer as I switch from my left jab to my right cross that gives me such a feeling of power!"
Thank you Heidi for loving you and doing what you do!
"I can only love you most when I love me best."
